The General Secretaries’ Retreat on the ongoing Labour Law Reviews 2025, held at Country Resort, Garuga, brought together union leaders and key stakeholders to discuss critical reforms that will shape the future of labour relations. The retreat provided a strategic platform for General Secretaries from affiliated unions to review existing labour laws, identify gaps, and propose practical recommendations to strengthen workers’ rights and protections.

Discussions focused on employment standards, collective bargaining, workplace safety, dispute resolution, social security, and adapting labor legislation to emerging challenges in the modern workforce. Participants emphasized the importance of ensuring that labor laws remain responsive to changing economic conditions, technological advancements, and the needs of both formal and informal sector workers.

The retreat also encouraged collaboration, policy dialogue, and unified advocacy to influence meaningful legislative reforms. Through this engagement, NOTU reaffirmed its commitment to promoting decent work, fair labor practices, and stronger legal protections for all workers across the country.
